Kuchipudi Dance, one of the India's seven main Classical Dance Styles, is from the South-East Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Rangapravesam means "ascending the stage" in Sanskrit. It is usually a full-length solo dance performance, and it marks the transition of an artist from a student to a full fledged accomplished artist.   It takes years of dedicated practice, mastery of hundreds of steps, sequences and performance pieces before a student is considered ready for this milestone.

Usually accompanied by a live orchestra, this

performance demands that the dancer exhibit understanding of many aspects of the Kuchipudi dance, from sensitive expressions to intricate rhythm and grace.
